After a busy start to the month, the offseason has settled in and most teams around the NHL have a pretty clear picture of what they’ll look like to begin the 2024-25 season. The official sportsbook sponsor of SinBin.vegas since the inception of the site, William Hill, has released their odds for the season and despite the roster upheaval, the Golden Knights are still expected to be in the mix.
To win the Stanley Cup
VGK +1600 (10th)
10th is a lot lower than we are used to in Vegas, especially to begin the season. The Golden Knights are well behind the conference champion Edmonton Oilers who pace the field at +800, with the reigning Stanley Cup champs slightly behind at +900. New Jersey (+1200), Carolina (+1200), the New York Rangers (+1200), and Toronto (+1500) all enter 24-25 with shorter odds than the Golden Knights.
To win the Western Conference
VGK +750 (5th)
It’s no surprise to see Edmonton (+375) and Dallas (+400) ahead of the Golden Knights after going at it in the conference final, and Colorado (+600) always seems to get to nod when it comes to odds. Nashville (+700) is the surprising final team in front of Vegas after their mega offseason including ripping away Jonathan Marchessault.
To win the Pacific Division
VGK +300 (2nd)
The team that won the division last year, and fairly easily by five points in the standings, the Vancouver Canucks (+450) rank behind VGK to open this year. The Golden Knights are only behind Edmonton (+130). Los Angeles (+475) is the only other team the books are giving a shot with everyone else at +1500 or worse. San Jose is +17500.
To make the playoffs
Yes -390
No +300
This number is nearly half of what it was last year after the Golden Knights won the Cup. They were massive -700 favorites to reach the postseason to begin 23-24 while they are just -390 this year. The number still implies Vegas have about an 80% chance to make the playoffs, so there’s not much concern there at all.
Regular season points
Over/Under 98.5
Despite the change in the roster, the oddsmakers are expecting the Golden Knights to mimic the pace they set last year when they earned the 8-seed with 98 points. It was a tale of two seasons though for VGK, starting with 23 points in the the first 12 games and then finishing with 75 points in the final 70 games.
Lowest regular season point total
VGK +20000 (T-25th)
In case you are afraid that this will be the year of the downfall for the Golden Knights, the bookmakers do not share this concern. Unsurprisingly, San Jose paces the field at +320.
Miscellaneous Award Odds
Eichel for Hart +6000
Karlsson for Rocket Richard +25000

Theodore for Norris +7500
