During a recent guest appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’, Melissa was posed with a thought-provoking question by host Andy Cohen.
“Very philosophical about the possibility that you may not be here next year, the show may not be the same ever. Is that real?” Andy asked Melissa.
Melissa replied, “I mean it’s a realistic view right now. Right, I think you have said it multiple times also that there is a time for change. I do think the change kind means some people are gonna go maybe everyone’s gonna go.”
“So I think we are all just trying to do our best to figure out what’s gonna happen and realize it is realistic that things might change,” she further added.
Melissa Gorga dishes on ‘RHONJ’ Season 14, calls it ‘crazy different’
Having been part of the ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ for a significant amount of time, Melissa has witnessed a plethora of moments on the show, ranging from comedic to emotional to downright intense.
However, similar to numerous fans of the Bravo series, Melissa acknowledged that Season 14 took some getting used to in comparison to previous seasons. The noticeable shifts in dynamics led to a complete rift within the cast.
“I do think that Season 14 was crazy different than the rest. Obviously, with not having a cast trip with having a cast so divided,” Melissa told Distractify.
Melissa Gorga feels relieved ‘RHONJ’ Season 14 ‘is going to be in the past’
In addition to axing the planned cast getaway, Bravo also decided to pull the plug on the highly anticipated Season 14 reunion for ‘RHONJ’. Furthermore, each member of the cast will be hosting their own individual watch parties to dissect and analyze the highly anticipated season finale.
Melissa filmed this special with her close friends Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, and Danielle Cabral, as well as Jennifer Fessler, who is known as a “friend of” the show. Variety reported that there will also be separate reunions for the cast.
The alterations made to the show and the feedback from fans prompted RHONJ’s Executive Producer, Andy Cohen, to reveal that he and the production team were in the process of brainstorming and developing new ideas for the upcoming season.
Melissa remains unsure of how the changes will impact her and her family, but she seems convinced that they are essential. She expressed her belief that the changes are long overdue and that the time for them has finally arrived.
Although she acknowledges that it may be a bit sad not to have the familiar faces of the cast she has worked with for the past two seasons, she is content to have Season 14 in her rearview, regardless of whether it marks the end of her time on the show.
Prior to the speculation about casting, Melissa had shifted her focus to her non-television endeavors, such as expanding her boutique, Envy. In January 2024, she successfully launched a second branch of her store.
Regardless of what the future holds for her in terms of the show, Melissa remains confident in her ability to thrive and succeed in whatever comes next.
“I just feel really good about it all. I feel relieved that that season is going to be in the past, and it’s time to move on. And it’s time to see what Bravo decides, you know, see which direction they’re gonna go. And the truth is no one knows. And we are all just waiting patiently, and we’ll see what’s next,” Melissa said.
