For nearly a decade, The Real Housewives of Potomac has given viewers a glimpse at the luxurious lifestyle in the DMV area. In that time, we’ve learned that the ladies pride themselves on self-care, whether that means treating themselves to a day at the Medspa, getting some cosmetic enhancements, or spending a day indulging in retail therapy.
In the clip above, we caught up with a few cast members of RHOP as they shared some of their over-the-top spending habits, ranging from skincare to designer handbags and more.
How much does the RHOP cast spend on skincare?
While discussing their high cheekbones and vibrant skin Wendy Osefo, Robyn Dixon, and Mia Thornton all collectively agreed they “go high” on any skincare products.
As Candiace Dillard Bassett explained, “Skincare is always high” because it’s “your face.” She added: “You don’t get another one. So, I’m going to put all the money [in]. I’m pumping all the coins into these layers.”
When it came to Karen Huger, she simply concluded that she would always splurge on her skincare routine due to “maintenance.”
The RHOP cast share their spending budget for designer handbags
The RHOP ‘Wives may share the same viewpoints on the upkeep of their skin, but they were conflicted about how much they would spend on luxury purses.
In fact, Ashley Darby noted that she’s not “really a bad girl,” and it’s rare for her to splurge on a bag. She added: “It’s never really tickled my fancy…” However, Ashley did mention her reasoning for not being into designer accessories. Let her explain, above.
As for Wendy and Nneka Ihim, they both raved about how “$5k” on a bag is considered an investment for them. Gizelle Bryant, on the other hand, shared that she owns several “high-end” pieces that she “like[s] to go low sometimes.”
Candiace Dillard Bassett spends “four digits” on a purse
Speaking of designer handbags, on Season 8, Episode 13 of RHOP, fans got to see Candiace show off her bright purple Christian Dior mini bag. Although the “Drive Back” singer was excited to add the new piece to her collection, her husband, Chris Bassett, thought otherwise.
“Did you go shopping?” Chris asked his wife as she gazed at the gorgeous accessory. “This is from two weeks ago, when my mom was here and I took her to Dior,” Candiace replied.
“So, money that you spent that you really didn’t need to because obviously it wasn’t that important [because] it’s still in the box two weeks later?” Chris fired back.
“No,” Candiace retorted. “[It’s] money that I spent because I needed retail therapy because I’m busy and exhausted and I haven’t had time to open it.”
Right after, the couple’s exchange, Candiace revealed that the Dior bag had a price tag of “four digits.” A note on the screen unveiled the purse cost $2,395.
