The Bachelorette season 21 star Jenn Tran has a deep connection with Devin Strader, but she shouldn’t choose him and get engaged to him in the end. Jenn, a 26-year-old physician assistant student originally from Hillsdale, New Jersey, but currently living in Boston, Massachusetts, is making history on the show as the first-ever Asian American Bachelor franchise lead. She began her journey with 25 men, and Devin, a 28-year-old freight company owner from Houston, Texas, is a standout.
Throughout The Bachelorette season 21, Jenn and Devin have shared some memorable moments together. From him stealing her away for some gelato during the first group date, to them bonding about their families, traditions, and hopes for the future on their meaningful one-on-one date, they seem to be forming a very strong connection. However, there are some things about Devin that could mean that Jenn shouldn’t choose him in the end.
Devin Strader Is Always At The Center Of The Drama During The Bachelorette Season 21
Devin Has Had Several Arguments With His Fellow Contestants
Although Jenn and Devin get along very well, Devin has been at the center of a lot of drama with his fellow Bachelorette season 21 contestants. The first conflict was between him and Aaron Erb, when Aaron took issue with the fact that Devin kept stealing Jenn away for one-on-one time. Aaron even gave Devin a self-improvement book to help him become more self-aware.
Thomas Nguyen also confronted Devin after he felt that Devin was being disrespectful by speaking to Jenn first at a cocktail party, when some of the men hadn’t had any time with her at all. Sam McKinney also isn’t a big fan of Devin, to say the least, and they’ve gotten into some heated arguments throughout the season.
Although Jenn gets to see a softer side of Devin, the fact that he’s always at the center of arguments is definitely a red flag. He has good intentions and is a good person with high moral standards, and he proved this when he defended Sam Nejad from Sam M. and Thomas. However, one has to wonder if Devin’s tendency to create drama could eventually affect his relationship with Jenn.
Devin Doesn’t Seem Willing To Change
Devin Has To Be More Self-Aware
Devin is always saying that he’s unapologetically himself, and that he doesn’t understand why the other guys can’t let him be who he is. He prides himself on being loud and having a big personality, but this sometimes rubs people the wrong way. This was especially true during his argument with Aaron. Although Aaron was out of line when he gave Devin the self-improvement book when he barely knew him, it was important to note that Devin was unwilling to see anything wrong with his own behavior.
During his conflicts with the other men, Devin doesn’t look inward to see what role he might be playing in causing drama. He’s always his authentic self, but this isn’t always a good thing when dealing with other people. Sometimes people have to take a step back and realize that, if they have conflict with that many people, then maybe their behavior is part of the problem. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Jenn and Devin ever had an argument.
Devin has a sensitive side that really appeals to Jenn. He opened up to her about his family and his insecurities, which was very attractive. Devin also told Jenn that he was falling for her, which made her very happy. He seems genuine about how he feels, but Jenn should be careful with him. Devin’s big personality could eventually overshadow their relationship. Jenn and Devin have a sweet relationship now, but she shouldn’t choose to get engaged to him at the end of The Bachelorette season 21.
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
