Summer House star Paige DeSorbo and her long-distance boyfriend, Craig Conover are often defending their situation. The duo have shared much of their two-and-a-half-year relationship on camera. They’ve disagreed on if and when to take the next step.
First comes love, second comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage. Allegedly. That’s not really how things go in these modern times, and Paige is holding her own independently, whilst being in a long-term union.
Paige doesn’t want to be treated “differently”
During an interview for the LadyGang podcast on July 23, Paige reiterated that she is not ready to start a family.
“Honestly, me and Craig rarely talk about when are we getting engaged, when are we having a baby,” the Giggly Squad podcast host said. “Of course, we’ve had those conversations, but it’s not as much as everyone else is having them. So we don’t really get that stressed out about it. All of my girlfriends are pretty much married… but no one’s had a baby yet. So I don’t feel like I’m behind with everyone.”
“When [women] do get married and have babies, people look at you different and they treat you different,” Paige added. “I didn’t want to be doing Giggly Squad, putting out a book, going on tour, and everyone would be like, ‘So you’re planning your wedding. Like, where are you doing it?’ I didn’t work this long just to like give it to a guy, basically.”
Paige is not in a rush to take the next step
Paige did address how the Summer House airing schedule may have changed the perception of how long she and the Sewing Down South founder have been together.
“It seems like me and Craig have been dating for so much longer than we have,” she explained. “It seemed like, oh my God, they’ve been together for like years and years when in reality we’ve really only been dating for two and a half years.”
The fashion contributor also shared that having children is “a priority,” just not at this moment.
“I also know myself. I know the moment I give birth to that first child, you’ll never see me again. That’s it. I’m home. I’m in the bed. Like I can’t wait for that. And so I think partly that’s why I am like, I don’t wanna do that right now. Like, I wanna work, enjoy my career, work really hard. Because I know that next part of my life is coming and when it comes I wanna be ready for it and I wanna be so immersed in it.”
Both Summer House and Southern Charm can be streamed on Peacock.
