When we first met the couple on Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Orange County in 2012, Terry was always on Heather’s team. They’ve been that way ever since … and long before we ever knew them as Bravolebs.
“Terry is an unbelievable father, but I joke about him that he walks around the house like he just scrubbed in for surgery. He doesn’t touch anything,” explained Heather in Season 7, Episode 1. “He’s a plastic surgeon — the best kind of [doctor]. It’s like investing in my future.”
While we know Terry is a successful surgeon and that the couple share four beautiful children and as well as several beautiful houses, there’s lots more to learn about the Angelino. Ahead, discover everything you’ve ever wondered about Dr. Terry Dubrow — his career, health status, and height included.
Terry Dubrow’s Stroke
In August 2023, Terry suffered a “transient ischemic attack” (TIA) that caused stroke-like symptoms. The couple opened up about the situation during the RHOC Season 17 reunion.
“[Terry] had a stroke in front of me and then didn’t realize it happened. [We had] a huge fight — he was, like, crazy belligerent afterwards and not himself. And I chased him around Beverly Hills for an hour. Literally, chased him,” explained Heather. “We finally got him to go to the hospital and the doctor comes out and they wheeled in the monitor and [Terry] read it and he goes, ‘I had a f-cking stroke.’ I go, ‘I know. I was there.'”
Later, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Terry got emotional thinking about how his wife’s insistence he go to the hospital saved his life.
“I’m gonna try to say this without crying, but the only reason I’m standing here today and not six feet under is because of my best friend and beloved wife’s insistence that I go to the emergency room and get checked out,” he said. “She saved my life. That’s just the way it goes. So, what can I say? I love my wife and she saved my life.”
What happened to Terry Dubrow during his health scare?
While out to eat with Heather and Nick, Terry began slurring his speech — prompting his family to call 911 despite his hesitations.
After arriving at the hospital, doctors discovered that he had a patent foramen ovale (PFO), “which is a hole in the heart that didn’t close the way it should after birth.” A blood clot had apparently passed through the PFO before traveling to his brain and causing the TIA.
Terry Dubrow’s Health
Today, Terry is back to his wonderful, healthy self. In fact, doctors were able to fix Terry’s PFO the same day the issue happened. He was soon cleared to perform surgery and do high-intensity workouts.
How old is Terry Dubrow?
Terry was born on September 14, 1958, meaning he’ll turn 66 in 2024. He’s a virgo (like Tamra Judge, Lala Kent, and Lisa Vanderpump), in case you were wondering.
They own several homes in Orange County as well as across Los Angeles, including a stunning penthouse and they are currently renovating a mansion in Beverly Hills.
