I don’t think I need to explain further when I start by saying by default the clear answer is Glenn Rhee – that has to be one of the most brutal, devastating, and unsettling character deaths in TV of all time. However, aside from Glenn, I also found the death of Beth Greene to be particularly tragic. Beth had always been a lovable character who had a great bond with the other characters, so to see her go hurt big time – especially because she was so young. The fact that there was a whole mission that took place to try and free her from the hospital, and that right up until the final confrontation, it seemed likely that they would succeed. This made her death that much more impactful, and the following scene of Maggie breaking down as Daryl carries the lifeless body of her younger sister (and last living family member) out of the building is absolutely heartbreaking.
