Fans were first introduced to Phaedra Parks during Season 3 back in 2010. The mother of two was eccentric, to say the least. But she had a passion for making money that was only equatable to her co-star, Kandi Burruss. Between juggling her multitude of careers, Phaedra also found time to become the scene stealer of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. But after a fall from grace, fans wondered if we would ever see her back.
Thanks to her stint on The Traitors this past year, it became quite obvious that Bravo viewers wanted to see Phae Phae back on the small screen. The network revealed that the beloved series would be getting a shake-up. And now it seems they have decided to bring Phaedra back to her rightful home. It has been far too long since Phaedra has been left out in the cold of the Bravosphere. With the rebirth of the series, a new day has come. Fans are more than ready for Phaedra to be the face of change.
No more Kandi Burruss
With the return of Phaedra, one thing is for sure: fans will never see Kandi back on the series as long as her arch nemesis is there. The two women had a major falling out after Season 9. The fight brought down the vibe of the series, especially because they used to be close friends. The feud initially started after it was revealed that the lawyer had started the rumors suggesting the Grammy Award singer and Todd Tucker wanted to drug Porsha Williams and take advantage of her.
Recently, Kandi spoke out on her podcast. Speak On It, addressing the fact that she would never film with Phaedra. Kandi noted, “I don’t owe her sh*t, and I would say that to anybody. Not a motherfu*cking thing. I don’t owe her sh*t. She will never get sh*t from me.” Even though her cohost, Jay, tried to point out how much fans would love a reconciliation, Kandi doubled down, sharing, “The fans ain’t never gonna get it. It’s not about the fans. I love the fans.”
Phaedra Parks’ return could mean the return of Apollo
Even though Phaedra and Apollo Nida are divorced, it doesn’t mean fans won’t be seeing him on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. During her one-season stint in Married to Medicine, Apollo appeared at the reunion, and it looked like they were co-parenting quite well. The behavior is a far cry from the last time we saw Phaedra and Apollo interact. The felon was just about to go off to jail but randomly showed up at the house, scaring production of Phaedra.
However, if both have turned over a new leaf, it could be nice to see how Apollo is as a father to his two teenage sons. Phaedra undoubtedly will need some sort of storyline, and Apollo could accommodate that.
Frick and Frack are back
There was something so wonderful about Porsha and Phaedra when they were best friends. Now that both are welcomed back onto the Real Housewives of Atlanta, there is much to look forward to. Before Season 9’s Dungeon Gate, the two women were pretty fun to watch. Imagine a modern-day Lucy and Ethel. Both Porsha and Phaedra delivered some made-for-TV moments, and for the most part, the friendship seemed authentic. Both peaches love to create drama, but the way they would sit back and thoroughly enjoy the chaos they just created was everything.
With Porsha and Phaedra back for Season 16, viewers may relive the early nostalgic feeling that made the series perfect. If a true friendship can blossom, there is no telling what Frick and Frack might get up to. The hijinks will be at an all-new level, and the Real Housewives of Atlanta will be entertaining once more. With Porsha going through a messy and public divorce, maybe Phae Phae will hand out some legal advice or, at the very least, have a witty line or two about Simon Guobadia.
Real Housewives of Atlanta can be streamed on Peacock.
