With Vanderpump Rules filming on hiatus, fans are expecting the possibility of some major changes when season 12 begins to air.
As many wonder which cast members will return, with many wondering whether Ariana Madix has had too much filming, the question remains: who would fill these cast slots?
Luckily, Lisa Vanderpump is giving us some peace of mind. In a recent interview, she addressed the suggestion of “revamping” the show with an entirely new cast.
Recently, there have been many discussions of cast shuffles between Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. As Bravo’s latest VPR spinoff gets underway, many are wondering whether any VPR cast members will jump ship to the newer show.
In fact, for some time, it looked like Lala Kent might be the first to make the switch.
To many fans this was an obvious choice, since Lala recently purchased a home in the Valley and will soon be a mother of two.
“Lala is in early talks to join ‘The Valley,’” an insider informed Page Six.
“She is very connected with that cast. Those girls are her very good friends and mom crew.”
But the insider claims that this might not mean Lala is departing VPR.
“That’s her home,” the insider informed Page Six, adding, “It’s not one or the other.”
But it’s no surprise that many fans have been wondering what this could mean for the future of Vanderpump Rules.
Luckily, on a recent appearance on Call Me Daddy, she addressed the possibility of a cast shake-up.
Host Alex Cooper brought up the possibility of the cast being completely recomposed from the ground up.
“I would die to watch kids back at SUR trying to make it in acting or modeling and get back at it,” Alex said on the podcast.
“You know what? From your mouth to God’s ears, that might be a thought,” Lisa said.
But Lisa didn’t seem to be entertaining any ideas of giving the boot to any cast members.
“Do I think it will be back? Yes. Do I think it needs to breathe? Yes,” Lisa spilled.
“Am I totally busy at opening another restaurant? Yes. So I think let’s just give it a minute, let everybody live their life.”
Lisa recently addressed rumors that Vanderpump Rules was on the verge of all-out cancellation.
Production has decided to put a “pause” on filming VPR, which typically begins filming in May and continues to shoot all summer.
A source told the outlet that Bravo has decided to pause filming to give the cast a “break.” Apparently Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss’ affair took a toll on the group and they all need a moment to step away.
The outlet noted that production is hopeful the group will take some time for themselves and bring back some new drama when they are ready to return.
Many fans are convinced that this is Bravo’s way of going into a “soft cancellation” of the show. Many think production will just throw in the towel and announce they are not returning at all.
In fact, the show’s executive producer, Alex Baskin, recently confessed that the show was in the early stages of ending prior to Scandoval.
“We were hobbling,” Alex admitted.
According to the producer, the affair ultimately saved the show.
“We can still squeeze a great season out of it, but going forward, I don’t know,” Alex confessed.
But Lisa recently stepped in to quell the concerns of fans.
“Vanderpump Rules is on hiatus just for a little bit,” Lisa exclusively told E! News last week. “Let it breathe. I think we were going around in circles for a little bit.”
It seems that her attention is needed elsewhere.
“I have a restaurant to open in September, so I have to be full-steam ahead on that,” she told the outlet. “I was away just before I opened Wolf working with Gordon [Ramsay]. That put a lot of pressure on us. I really need a couple of months to do that now.”
