Pius Suter enjoyed a pretty successful first season with the Vancouver Canucks playing a depth role for Rick Tocchet and just before his second year with the organization, the Swiss forward has announced some pretty big news in his social life.
In a post on social media, the Vancouver Canucks congratulated Pius Suter on getting marriage to his now-wife, Sara. Suter got married at Lake Como in Italy at a ceremony with family and friends in attendance.
Last summer, Suter signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks worth $1.6 million per season and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2025. In his first season with the Canucks, the Zurich, Switzerland native registered 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists), 16 penalty minutes and was a plus-17 in 67 games. He went on to add three points in 13 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The 28-year-old is currently projected to be the Canucks’ fourth line centerman to start the season, with NHL.com having newly-signed forwards Danton Heinen and Kiefer Sherwood as his wingers. If Suter has another strong season in a bottom-six role for the Canucks, he could be in line for a contract extension at some point later in the year and he could be a valuable option in the years to come for Vancouver as a depth piece.
Everyone here at Canucks Daily would like to congratulate Pius Suter and his wife Sara on their marriage!
