The New Orleans Saints will enter the 2024 season with their backs against the wall. After three straight years without a playoff appearance, it’s clear this is a make-or-break season for the franchise. There have already been talks about Dennis Allen being on the hot seat, and the team offloading it’s veterans and starting a rebuild. The only way to prevent that from happening is New Orleans proving it’s a contender.
The Saints are well aware of this reality. That’s why the team has been attacking the offseason, preparing to enter the season with an entirely different mindset. Veteran safety and team leader Tyrann Mathieu was recently asked what should people expect from New Orleans in 2024. He warned that the Saints will be playing with an attitude.
"We're going to have way more attitude this season. I think it's personal, not just for us, I think for our coaches as well."

Saints are taking things personal going into 2024
Mathieu emphasized the team will have way more attitude, explaining how 2024 is personal for players and coaches. Because of that, New Orleans is turning back the clock, and embracing being an old, nasty team that plays with an attitude.
When Mathieu says it’s personal, he’s likely alluding to the fact that no one outside of the building believes in the team. From analysts, to other players, to fans, everyone is doubting the Saints, Dennis Allen, and Derek Carr. But, to the critics defense, the team has been nothing but mediocre for three years.
Mathieu and the Saints understand that, and that’s part of the reason why they’re embracing this attitude; they want to be a dominant team on the field. As is the case in sports, though, it’s going to take more than just saying it, and wanting it. New Orleans actually has to bring an attitude to the field every game, and impose it on other teams. If the franchise can do that throughout the season, the Saints should return to the playoffs.
