Strathblane this week saw a production crew arrive in the village as filming began on a new ITV thriller starring The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln.
Residents noted that the production were parked up in the village, believed to have been filming on or near the West Highland Way.
It remains unclear if Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes in the zombie apocalypse series – appearing in his first British production in a decade – was in the village to film scenes.
In the six-parter he’ll be playing a dad who moves to Scotland after a midlife crisis.
It tells the story of stay-at-home dad John (Lincoln), who relocates with his wife Fiona (Indira Varma) and their children from London to a Scottish village. John quickly makes friends with neighbour Tommy. But their intense relationship raises Fiona’s suspicions and she is shocked to discover the horrifying secrets behind the real Tommy.
The cast also includes Keeping Faith’s Eve Myles and Doctor Who’s Indira Varma.
Some eagle-eyed residents spotted the production with one mother and daughter pairing claiming that they “thought we saw him on the set a few minutes ago”.
The production vehicles were parked in front of the popular Kirkhhouse Inn, in Glasgow Road.
A spokesperson for the Kirkhouse Inn this week told the Observer: “We are often approached by film companies to use the Kirkhouse for filming and over the past three years it has been used a number of times.
“On this occasion we merely let our car park be used for the production team vehicles as parking as many vehicles in one area is difficult as you can imagine in Strathblane.
“I do believe the actor in question (Andrew Lincoln) was present but not within the hotel itself, as filming was in a nearby location on the West Highland Way I believe.”
The production was also spotted last week filming in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow.
