It’s not often that Jordan Love and Justin Fields would have been in the same room in the past.
Love is the star quarterback of the Green Bay Packers and the legitimate heir to Aaron Rodgers’ throne and Fields was the former No. 11 overall pick of the Chicago Bears. For a while, the two had to have been sworn enemies.
Unfortunately for Fields, his time in Chicago is done just as Love’s star has started to shine in Green Bay. He’s not trying to write a comeback story as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers while in a competition with Russell Wilson. Yes, it’s strange.
In the meantime, former Ohio State star C.J. Stroud took the NFL by storm last season as rookie quarterback for the Houston Texans. He threw for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns (five interceptions) while leading the Texans to the playoffs.
Three different quarterbacks with three vastly different paths. Meanwhile, all three are apparently working out together, and they’re super impressive in the process:
It’s, of course, much easier to look good while playing around cones and against air, but it’s worth noting that both Love and Stroud proved their skills against real NFL competition in their first seasons at the helm of their respective offenses.
Fields has tremendous talent as an athlete, but he has had some serious question marks as a passer.
Perhaps hooking up with Fields and Love this offseason will help him rewrite his story as an NFL quarterback.
