Demi Sims and Eve Gale shocked fans earlier this year when they announced their romance just weeks after the latter’s stint on Love Island: All Stars, with the pair sharing that they had been enjoying dates with one another. And while things appeared to be going strong for two beauties when OK! last caught up with them, Demi has now confirmed that she is still single.
As we caught up with the former TOWIE star at Garnier’s Pride Celebration this week, we mentioned her trip to Ibiza in May with Eve – where they detailed their blossoming romance to OK! – and wondered if she has an update. “I was single [in Ibiza] and I’m still single now,” confirms Demi. She continues: “Yeah, I don’t know. I’m always single! I wouldn’t shut something serious down but I’m not actively looking for it.”
Back in May, Demi said of her romance with Eve: “We’re both shy! There’s not a label on it, we’re just enjoying spending time with each other,” as the Love Island star chimed in to gush: “I love her so much”. Beaming over at the reality star, Demi admitted: “We actually just get along so well, we’ve always got along for years – ever since I met Eve. It’s only just recently that it’s, kind of, gotten to something more”.
While she may not be finding love herself, Demi’s cousin Joey Essex is currently appearing on Love Island, and even said this week that he has found The One in partner Jessy Potts. Sharing her opinion on Joey’s time in the villa, Demi told us: “Joey has been completely himself, I think he’s done so well. He’s grown up and isn’t silly Joey anymore, he’s showing everyone this side to him. I miss him, I’m so proud of him, I just can’t wait to get him home.”
And giving her verdict on Joey’s connection, Demi – who admits she had no idea he was going to be on the show until watching it on TV – shared: ” He is so into Jessy, I can tell. He really likes her.”
Demi has been keeping up with the show every night, and wasn’t the only one surprised by her cousin’s entrance into the villa, as her sister Chloe recently told OK! that she also had no idea he would be on the small screen. “I was completely shocked,” she admitted earlier this month. “I realised his agent had actually reached out and sent me a text pre-written by Joey. I was absolutely fuming because I thought, ‘I can’t watch this in the US’ and I really want to watch because he’s there, and because I love Love Island!”
