Everything The Penguin Trailer Reveals About The Batman Spinoff
The Penguin will not only show Oz’s power continuing to rise but also explore the crime boss’ personal life. In The Penguin trailer, the footage gives a deeper glimpse into Oz’s family situation, as his mother is asking him for a better life. Even though Oz is fighting to become a bigger player in Gotham City because of his own motivations, the new glimpse of the series also adds a more human element.
One of the big twists in The Penguin trailer is the revelation that Sofia Falcone has just been released from Arkham, claiming she has been rehabilitated. But based on Oz’s reaction, he does not buy it, as he is now having to deal with another Falcone in his life. While The Penguin will be mostly a mob story, the DC drama will essentially explore how various sides of the criminal underworld are looking to claim more control of Gotham City.
With a focus on a major villain like Oz Cobb, it will be exciting to see whether The Penguin will lead to other shows focused on other Batman foes. The Penguin will pave the way for the events of The Batman – Part II story; the HBO series will definitely be crucial for viewers who are invested in Reeves’ franchise. But based on the latest footage for The Penguin, Farrell’s return as the titular DC baddie will be an exciting journey to follow this fall on HBO.
