The Bachelor season 28 runner-up Daisy Kent reveals that she’s dating someone after quitting Joey Graziadei’s season. The Bachelor season 28 had an unprecedented ending when Daisy self-eliminated from the show after realizing that Joey was going to choose Kelsey Anderson instead of her. Although Daisy and Joey fell in love, his connection with Kelsey was stronger. In a Bachelor first, Daisy and Kelsey even rode together in the limousine to the final rose ceremony, holding hands in an act of sisterhood. Daisy and Joey broke up, and Joey then proposed to Kelsey. She accepted, and they’re still engaged.
Daisy then admitted that she’d been on multiple dates with the same person.
On the Almost Famous podcast, Daisy revealed that she’s been dating someone. Daisy said, “I think I’m at such a good spot in my life, but I also think I did learn about myself a lot for the show, so no matter what right now, I’m going to put myself first. But yeah, I have gone on dates.”Daisy then admitted that she’d been on multiple dates with the same person, but she didn’t know if she was close to being in a relationship. Daisy said, “I would say I’m happy right now, and it’s looking positive.”
Daisy Kent Reveals If Current Dating Life Is Why She Rejected Bachelorette
Daisy Turned Down The Bachelorette After Joey’s Season
Daisy turned down being the lead of The Bachelorette season 21, saying at the time that she wasn’t ready. On Almost Famous, she emphasized that the person that she’s dating wasn’t the reason that she rejected doing the show. She said that she “one hundred percent” made the decision “on my own before I ever wanted to think about anything with anyone else because I knew I was at this point in my life where I kinda had to be selfish and make a decision for me.” Daisy stressed that her Bachelorette decision “definitely had nothing to do with my dating life right now.”
Daisy was very much in touch with how she was feeling about Joey throughout The Bachelor. She was worried at the beginning when she wasn’t sure how she felt about him, but, in the end, she did fall in love with him. However, Daisy had the sense that Joey’s connection with Kelsey was much deeper, so she decided to bow out of the situation so that Joey didn’t have to go through the heartache of rejecting her. Daisy’s noble act made the ending easier and happier for Joey and Kelsey because he could be at peace with his decision, knowing that Daisy was okay with it.
Daisy’s decision not to do The Bachelorette seems to have been completely about her wanting to do what was best for her at the time. It’s great to hear that no one else influenced her choice. Daisy’s rejection of the role led to the producers casting the first-ever Asian American Bachelorette, Bachelor season 28 contestant Jenn Tran, instead. It’s good that Daisy realized that she wasn’t ready to take on the role because it could’ve spelled disaster for her and the show. Daisy seems excited about what the future holds for her dating life. She deserves to find the love that she’s been searching for.
The Bachelorette season 21 premieres in July 2024 on ABC.
