Teresa Giudice attempted to take a stand against social media drama on Wednesday, but fans weren’t having it.
After the 52-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star was accused of leaking information about her castmates, including a 2008 article about John Fuda‘s past home invasion arrest, Teresa took to her Instagram page with a lengthy statement, which fans were quick to tear apart.
“I have been on ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ for the last 14 seasons and during that time I have seen and been a part of my fair share of drama with my cast mates,” Teresa began.
“What is happening off camera on social media, is absolutely disgusting and is fueled by toxic people who are not affiliated with the show or the cast and are only interested in promoting themselves by spreading their hate through false narratives and lies,” she continued. “It has affected all of us on the cast and our families. They are attacking our children, going after our businesses and they are turning something that is supposed to be entertainment into something very dark and toxic.”
As she went on, seemingly targeting the many bloggers who have claimed to have worked with her to “slander” members of the RHONJ cast, Teresa said, “This hate and toxicity has to stop.” She requested that everyone “stop engaging in any negativity towards my cast mates and all of our families.”
“Enough is enough … Love love love Teresa,” she concluded.
While Teresa disabled the comments on her post, seemingly in an effort to evade backlash, Instagram users took to other accounts who re-shared her statement to weigh in, many of whom suggested Teresa had no one but herself — and Jennifer Aydin, 47 — to blame.
“Girl, it’s literally you Jen and your lawyer pushing it all! If you believe this I’ve got some oceanfront property in Nevada to sell you!” Bravo Snark Side declared on their Instagram page as they included a screenshot from Teresa’s account.
“The call is coming from inside the house,” said someone else.
Another person suspected Teresa was trying to do damage control after finding herself on the “chopping block” with Bravo.
“Didn’t Jen admit to doing all this on [Watch What Happens Live]?” asked another IG user, signaling Jennifer’s claim that “nobody is innocent” when it comes to talking to bloggers.
“Says the one who started it!!” added someone else.
After Bravo and Cocktails re-posted Teresa’s message to their Instagram account, fans again reacted with comments.
“[It] starts and ends with her! So sick of it. She has lost herself in the mess of her life and the poor decisions she makes! Thinks everyone is against her and can’t make [or] keep friendships,” someone stated.
“Oh Tre……be the change you want to see in the world,” another encouraged.
“Laughable coming from the most toxic cast member,” someone else wrote.
Then, after another person said Teresa was “guilty of talking to ‘the blogs,’” a fan stated, “No one believes her BS!!”
