Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards is on his own when it comes to the custody battle against his estranged wife, Mackenzie Standifer Edwards. He had wanted more time with their two young children, Stella and Jagger, but he failed to show up for the big day. So, now he is left to fend for himself. How come? Keep reading for more details.

Teen Mom Ryan Edwards’ On His Own In Custody Battle

Things are going so much better for Ryan Edwards when it comes to his relationship with his first baby mama, Maci Bookout. The two have gone from 16 & Pregnant to Teen Mom. Somehow, they are working as a team to raise their teenage son, Bentley. Although he does not have the best track record, Maci wants to give Ryan the benefit of the doubt. She has even taken the time to meet up with his girlfriend, Amanda Conner, who has her own shady past. The two went to high school together and Maci is choosing not to judge her without knowing her.

However, things are not moving so smoothly for Ryan and his estranged wife, Mackenzie Standifer Edwards. They filed for divorce in early 2023 but too much time lapsed so they had to refile. During this time, Ryan was in prison and then in rehab where he met Amanda. Mackenzie had claimed Amanda was making co-parenting very hard and was harassing her along with Ryan. Though Mackenzie and Ryan were co-parenting through his parents, eventually that stopped and he wanted more time with his kids.

He then petitioned for what he thought was fair but did not even show up to his court hearing and now, according to The Sun, Ryan Edwards is on his own. His lawyer withdrew from his council as of July 22nd, 2024. This comes on the heels of a June 8th appearance Ryan was supposed to attend but failed to. Now, Ryan has 30 days to obtain a new council or he will have to represent himself in court. That will not bode well, especially if Mackenzie comes in with a lawyer, receipts, and all she needs to keep custody.

All Alone

As for why Ryan Edwards’ council left him, an insider close to the situation shared this tidbit from the hearing he missed:

“His lawyer was there, but he wasn’t. He wasted the court’s time.”

Therefore, it could be he saw Ryan not taking the situation seriously. Mackenzie ended up with full custody and many fans believe Ryan does not even care to have the kids around. More so, it is believed that his family is encouraging him to do what is right. However, he could care less about what happens in the long run. Then, there are fans who feel he has never looked better and compliment what an amazing couple he and Amanda Conner make:
