Teen Mom fans are accusing Tyler Baltierra of exploiting his special needs daughter for likes on social media. He recently shared a post detailing an experience he had with Vaeda and it was screenshotted by MTV fans to discuss. Tyler Baltierra & Catelynn Lowell Share IEP Journey

Viewers first met Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell on 16 and Pregnant in 2009. The couple ultimately decided to give their first daughter, Carly, up for adoption on the show. However, unlike many couples featured on the MTV franchise, they’ve managed to stay together.

The Teen Mom stars share three more daughters: Novalee, born in 2015; Vaeda, born in 2019; and Rya in 2021. They have also been open about the challenges they have experienced with their daughter, Vaeda.

One of their daughter’s teachers brought it to their attention that she seemed to get overstimulated in class. At the age of 5, she is still not speaking well and seems uncomfortable in loud environments.

Catelynn shared that she was going to get Vaeda evaluated for an IEP, an Individualized Education Program. In a recent post made by Tyler, he shared a clip of himself embracing Catelynn as she dealt with her emotions about getting Vaeda evaluated.

In the caption, the Teen Mom star wrote, “PARENTING IS HARD! Especially when you worry so much about your child having struggles that you can’t control. But I’m happy to say that Vaeda has exceeded all expectations & surpassed her IEP program!”

He continued, “We’re still in the process of getting her further evaluated outside of her school with her primary pediatrician & it’s going way better than we could’ve anticipated!”

Tyler Baltierra also shared that they decided to get their daughter noise-canceling headphones and have created calming spaces for her in their home. “I’m so proud of her & idc what anyone says, I KNOW that she’s special in more ways than one & I truly think it’s BEAUTIFUL!” He concluded the post by stating that he’d always be there for his daughter whenever she needed him.

Teen Mom fans were not impressed with the devoted dad’s social media post. One follower screenshotted his caption and shared it to a Reddit thread. Others were quick to weigh in with their thoughts.

“People don’t need to know this Tyler, stop exploiting your daughter’s private business for clicks,” one person wrote. Another agreed, “As Mom of neurodivergent children. This isn’t your information to share to the world Tyler, your children are individual human beings who deserve privacy and to trust that their parents won’t go spreading their business to the world.”

However, not everyone thought the same way. Others pointed out how isolating and lonely being a parent of a special needs child can be. “Being able to reach out to other parents/talk about the process, was a lifesaver for my family,” one commenter wrote.
