The newest season of My Adventures With Superman is on the way and I can’t believe how many villains are going to appear in the third season of the DC animated series. Though details are sparse for My Adventures With Superman season 3, recent art from San Diego Comic-Con 2024 suggests that Clark Kent will have his hands full by having an even larger number of villains than ever before. I’ve been quite impressed with how the show has adapted a variety of Superman’s villains already.
My Adventures With Superman season 2 ending left off on a high note, with Clark Kent understanding even more about his Kryptonian heritage and meeting his cousin, Kara, who will presumably continue to have a significant role in season 3. Season 2 also saw Lex Luthor and Deathstroke set to work together and going off of the art for the upcoming season, even more villains will return alongside a variety of newcomers. As a fan of Superman’s rogues gallery, I’m excited to see how the series will incorporate this new crop of villains.
DC Has Teased At Least 10 New Villains For My Adventures With Superman Season 3
My Adventures With Superman season 3 looks to bring back villains from the previous two seasons, including Lex Luthor, Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, Intergang, Mr. Mxyzptlk, and possibly Parasite, though it’s hard to tell if he is featured in the art or if he is a different villain. The art shows three other villains that will show up, one seems to be Cyborg Superman and the other possibly being General Zod. Finally, there looks to be another group of villains like Intergang or Task Force X, but its unclear who they will be.
Based on the San Diego Comic-Con art, Lex Luthor will finally be bald for My Adventures With Superman season 3.
The number of villains might seem overwhelming, but I trust My Adventures With Superman to give them satisfying narrative moments throughout season 3. Cyborg Superman feels like he could be a standout this season, as well as bringing in another Kryptonian in General Zod. How Clark comes to terms with his Kryptonian heritage is a big part of My Adventures With Superman and Zod can continue to further complicate Superman’s feelings towards his homeworld.
Superboy’s My Adventures With Superman Season 3 Story Could Add Another Villain To The Roster
If Superboy’s story in My Adventures With Superman is similar to his modern origin story, having him start off as a villain could happen.
With My Adventures With Superman adding Superboy to the cast, another possible villain is added to the equation. In season 2, the series began to flesh out the Superman family by introducing Kara Zor-El as an antagonist working alongside Braniac. By the end of the season, she finds her place next to Superman. If Superboy’s story in My Adventures With Superman is similar to his modern origin story, having him start off as a villain could happen.
Superboy is typically shown to be a clone of Lex Luthor and Superman, adding an intriguing layer of conflict to the character. With Lex Luthor poised to be a bigger threat than ever in season 3, having him create Superboy to fight against Clark could be a solid narrative choice. My Adventures With Superman could explore how Superboy’s ideals can change after meeting or fighting Clark when he previously only experienced Luthor’s view of Superman and the world.
Why My Adventures With Superman Season 3 Having So Many Villains Would Be A Good Thing
My Adventures With Superman has already proven that it can balance multiple villains throughout its first two seasons. Having numerous villains that have already appeared returning alongside brand-new characters is a good mix and one that should keep Clark Kent on his toes throughout the season. It will be interesting to see which villains eventually work together to take down Superman and how the series will adapt iconic characters like Cyborg Superman and General Zod.
One of the best parts about My Adventures With Superman is seeing how Clark overcomes the villains he faces off against, finding something deep inside himself that wills him on. The sheer number of villains this season keeps the odds stacked against him, and watching him beat those odds can be inspiring. Having a large number also makes sense if Supergirl plays a significant part in season 3, as the villains have to deal with two Kryptonians instead of just one.
I have really enjoyed the first two seasons of My Adventures With Superman. The way the show uses its anime inspiration to inform some of its villains is a lot of fun, and it will be exciting to see how it continues to do that for season 3. Superman seems to have an underrated rogues gallery when compared to other heroes like Batman or Spider-Man, but he genuinely has some amazing villains. I still can’t believe how many will be featured in My Adventures With Superman season 3.
