West Wilson was just as surprised as the rest of us when Lindsay Hubbard announced her pregnancy.
Rumors had long been floating that Hubbard was expecting with her new boyfriend (Dr. Turner Kufe), but the Summer House star didn’t confirm the news until she shared a sponsored post with ClearBlue on the 4th of July — just before she was reportedly set to start filming Summer House Season 9 in the Hamptons.
“I try not to buy into rumors until I hear them from the source and I don’t want to be nosy and text her and pry, you know?” Wilson, who joined Summer House in Season 8, told DECIDER while promoting his partnership with Captain Morgan Sliced. “So, I tried not to buy into the pregnancy hype until I heard it from her.”
He continued, “And then when I finally did, I was a little surprised. Because I’d heard rumors, but when you hear it in real-time, it’s always, like, holy shit.”
According to Wilson, there’s no denying Hubbard’s happiness as she gears up to give birth to her baby girl (a.k.a. her Hubb Cubb) this holiday season.
“I mean, she’s happy. I would never knock anything that keeps people from following their dreams,” he said. “I know she’s wanted to be a mom for a really long time and so getting to see her live that out will be super cool for everyone, I hope.”
Hubbard’s announcement came less than one year after she and her co-star Carl Radke called off their wedding. The influencer revealed during the Summer House Season 8 reunion that she officially moved on with Kufe in January of this year.
Kufe, for his part, is a doctor working in biotech investing, People reports. In response to his decision to keep things low-profile, Hubbard explained on her Instagram Story, “We are very much in love and have a beautiful relationship. This is about his work, his privacy, and the fact that it is not his job to be public like me.”
Not even Hubbard’s Summer House castmates have gotten to meet him, according to Wilson.
“I think it’s great, but we’ll see if he can manage that for a long time,” Wilson said of Kufe’s decision to stay out of the public eye. “I don’t know.”
The first eight seasons of Summer House are currently streaming on Peacock.
