Some exes are like cockroaches. You just can’t get rid of them, no matter how hard you try. Unfortunately, that’s the case with Shannon Beador and John Janssen.
They called it quits months ago, but he keeps popping back up in her life, both on and off of The Real Housewives of Orange County. After their breakup, John sued Shannon for breach of oral contract and promissory fraud. He said he loaned her cash to get a facelift and wants reimbursement. Now, Shannon’s lawyers are clapping back, and they’re not letting her go down without a fight.
Shannon Beador is accused in a lawsuit of fraud by John Janssen – all over a facelift
In John’s original lawsuit, he claimed that he loaned Shannon $75K for the facelift. It was money well spent, but John’s lawsuit has turned into a huge thorn in her side.
Shannon claimed that she offered to pay the money back to John. According to her, he turned down the offer because he didn’t want to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement.
In Touch reviewed new court documents from Shannon’s lawyers where they argued that John didn’t provide enough evidence proving that Shannon defrauded him.
Her lawyer wrote, “[John] has not alleged sufficient facts to state a fraud cause of action, and therefore has not alleged sufficient frauds for punitive damages.”
The lawyer continued, “[John’s] allegations of fraud do not include facts that support a claim that [Shannon] did not intend to perform at the time she entered into the alleged contract for the loan.”
Shannon’s lawyers want the case dismissed. Meanwhile, a source close to John – could it be Alexis Bellino? – said that there was a lot of confidence in John’s case. His lawyers still believe he has a decent shot at getting this money out of Shannon. Fortunately, that will be a judge’s decision.
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County air on Bravo, Thursdays at 9/8c.
