Shannon Storms Beador is one proud momma.
As she approached the one-year mark of her empty-nester era, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom gave fans another quick update on her eldest daughter, Sophie Beador. Shannon previously revealed that the 23-year-old had no plans to live on the West Coast after graduating from Baylor University back in May, as she had accepted an exciting job offer on the other side of the country.
“Get ready NYC… Sophie’s coming!” the OC ’Wife captioned an Instagram celebrating Sophie’s college graduation.

Fast-forward to July 10, when the mother and daughter headed to the Big Apple just days before Sophie’s first day of work.
“Sophie got a job offer in New York City,” Shannon said in a video. “We are so proud of her and she starts next week.”
Shannon was in the city to film the July 11 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, which aired right after the much-anticipated RHOC Season 18 premiere. The SoCal native figured she would use the trip to spend more time with her firstborn and help her prepare for the exciting new chapter.
“So [Sophie] came with me to New York,” Shannon continued, before highlighting nearly a dozen pieces of luggage. “And this is what we traveled with. Yikes!”
Shannon shares a glimpse at her and Sophie’s night on Broadway
Although they were no doubt busy with Shannon’s press appearances and Sophie’s big move, the two found the time to enjoy one of their favorite stage productions.
“Sophie and I could see [Wicked the Musical] every day!” Shannon wrote in a July 12 Instagram Story. “Her first time was on Broadway at 8 years old and now she is living here!!! Sophie and I could see [Wicked the Musical] a million times!”
Shannon reflects on being an empty nester
Shannon became an empty nester in the summer of 2023 after her twin daughters — Stella and Adeline Beador — left home for college. The former began her freshman year in France as part of the University of Southern California’s transfer program, while the latter headed to Manhattan to attend Parsons School of Design.
“I am an empty nester, officially,” Shannon told BravoTV.com in April. “All the girls are in school and the twins love college. And all I keep hearing is, ‘Mom! I’m an adult! I’m 19!”

Shortly after the twins’ move, Shannon decided it was time to downsize. She ditched her seven-bedroom, five-bathroom home last summer and moved into a smaller but equally gorgeous abode in Corona Del Mar.
“I’m living in a very small space but what I love about it — location, location, location!” she said about the three-bedroom pad. “It is in walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Great!”
