VANDERPUMP Rules star Scheana Shay has some fans thinking she gave her former co-star a backhanded compliment.
Scheana, 38, had a notoriously rocky friendship with Stassi Schroeder, 35, throughout their time on the hit Bravo series together.
The two both appeared from Season 1 on, with Stassi being fired from the network in 2020.
While Scheana remains on Vanderpump Rules, both stars have also ventured into other business opportunities, including podcasts.
Stassi began her Straight Up with Stassi podcast in March 2015, and Scheana launched her own, Scheananigans, three years later.
Earlier this week, Stassi announced her decision to rebrand her show, which included the title being downsized to just “Stassi.”

She also revealed that her weekly podcast would now be hosted on Dear Media, the largest female marketplace in audio.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Scheana joined in to congratulate her friend on the news.
“Welcome to the fam!!” the Good as Gold singer commented.
However, some people thought she was secretly jabbing Stassi with the sentiment.
“She was doing far before you, stay humble,” one follower replied.
“Not surprised by this comment [eye roll],” said another.

DEFENDING SCHEANA
Although Scheana’s comment was met with mixed reactions, others believed Scheana was simply welcoming Stassi to Dear Media, which hosts Scheananigans.
“Scheana is talking about the Dear Media fam…the production team for the podcast that Stassi is now in….so technically from the stand point Scheana was first,” someone chimed in.
“She meant with Dear Media, who’s been producing her pod for the last few years. Man the girl can’t even congratulate someone without getting hate,” another added.
In Stassi’s rebrand for her longtime podcast, the mom of two said she got bored of interviewing people and wanted to focus more on topics that interest her.
“F**k the ‘Straight Up,’ it’s not the vibe anymore,” Stassi said. “You know what’s the vibe? Just me.”
Stassi was fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020 after past racist actions came to light, which involved co-star Faith Stowers.
While her co-stars Kristen Doute and Jax Taylor were also fired, the two recently returned to Bravo in their new reality show, The Valley.
Scheana and her husband, Brock Davies, appeared on the premiere of the new series in early March, shortly after one of her comments on VPR made headlines.
SAY WHAT?
During an episode of Vanderpump earlier this month, Scheana hinted at having a threesome with singer John Mayer while the cast played a game of Never Have I Ever.
The crew was met with the prompt: “Never have I ever had a threesome with two dudes.”
A producer then asked the Scheananigans host during a confessional, “When were you in an orgy?”
“Once upon a time, my body was a wonderland, I’ll say that,” she teased, alluding to the singer’s 2001 hit song, Your Body is a Wonderland.
JOHN’S RESPONSE
After Scheana claimed to have been intimate with the guitarist, John denied the rumors.
“John has told several people close to him that he never hooked up with Scheana,” an insider revealed to The U.S. Sun.
“He knows that she has been telling people they hooked up well before the Vanderpump Rules episode aired and it’s gotten back to him.
“He’s very annoyed by the entire thing and wants nothing to do with her.”
The insider added that the pair were recently at a party together, where John attempted to avoid the reality star.
“She was trying her best to talk to John and even go as far as take a picture with him, but he shot her down,” they said of Scheana.
“He was doing his best to avoid her all night.”
NO HOLDING BACK
While Scheana may have recently mentioned the hookup, she has been open about it over the years.
During a 2020 episode of her podcast, she said she met the singer while working at a lounge prior to getting a job at Lisa Vanderpump’s Villa Blanca restaurant.
“Working there was so lit until I got fired for sleeping with a very famous singer,” she said. “Shoutout to John Mayer.”
She thanked the singer, noting how the act ultimately got her cast on Vanderpump Rules.

Scheana later mentioned the hookup while on the Flashbacks podcast, where she said she and her roommate, Stacie Adams from MTV’s The Hills, would visit John’s home in Calabasas, California.
“It just became, you know, kind of the three of us, we had a little throuple going on,” she explained.
