The New Orleans Saints have a difficult situation on their hands with the contract of Alvin Kamara.
The star running back wants a reworked deal with more guaranteed money for this year, according to reports, but the two sides have not come to an agreement quite yet. A recent social media post from Kamara gives fans some hope last week as far as a new contract goes.
Now, Kamara has made another intriguing choice that could lend itself well to the Saints and him getting a deal done before the season.
Alvin Kamara reports to Saints training camp
Alvin Kamara has reported to the Saints for training camp, I'm told.

Kamara is in the building. His holdout began at the end of Saints minicamp when he left their final practice early due to the contract dispute. His agent confirmed that notion regarding his departure, too.
If the running back had not reported, that decision would have resulted in notable fines for him.
Kamara will be 29 years old at the start of this season. There is plenty of nervousness around the NFL when it comes to extending running backs past their age-30 season.
What Kamara wants in his new deal
For the Saints RB, he is not looking for a long-term deal, but rather, a bit more money upfront before he hits the open market after the 2025 season. It’s understandable for the veteran playmaker.
Even with him reporting to camp, Kamara could still choose to hold out. We will see what he decides to do. That being said, it is a positive that he reported, regardless. Not to mention, the Saints do have plenty of cap space to get a reworked contract done with the running back.
Only time will tell if the two come to an agreement that makes both of them happy before the 2024 season.
