Friday morning was a nerve-wracking one for the Carolina Panthers.
After the team arrived at Charlotte Douglas International Airport around 2:40 a.m. following the preseason loss to the New England Patriots, the Delta flight carrying the players, coaches and staff members slid off the taxiway into the mud.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Panthers safety Xavier Woods was one of the passengers on the Delta 8860. He took to X, formerly Twitter, Friday morning to offer his reaction to the near mishap.
“Vouchers??” he wrote on X.

Carolina confirmed to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the plane did slide off the taxiway, providing the following statement:
“The team can confirm that their chartered team plane, after landing safely, did run off the taxiway and into mud. The team can also confirm that no injuries were reported and no one was hurt.”

If Woods’ ask is answered, Panthers players can expect some airline vouchers to be on the way soon.
