This Buffalo Sabres forward should bounce back in a big way in 2024-25.
Many Buffalo Sabres players had a tough 2023-24 season, and Dylan Cozens followed that trend. After breaking out in a big way with 31 goals and 68 points in 81 games for the Sabres in 2022-23, he dropped to 18 goals and 47 points in 79 games this past season.
Although Cozens had a down year in 2023-24, there is apparent reason to believe that he will be able to bounce back for the Sabres next season. The new campaign will offer the 2019 seventh-overall pick a clean slate, and there is no question that he has the skill to take advantage of it.
Cozens is only 23 years old and already has an excellent season on his resume, so he certainly has the potential to get back to that level. This is especially so when considering that he will once again play top-six minutes for the Sabres and be a key part of their power play.
Furthermore, with Cozens still being quite young, he also has the potential to hit an even higher level in 2024-25. Keep in mind, the 2023-24 season was just the Whitehorse native’s fourth campaign in the NHL, so he is still in the beginning stages of his career.
While it was a shaky season for Cozens, he certainly has an opportunity to make up for it in 2024-25. If he gets back to his previous form, it would help Buffalo’s chances of ending their 13-year playoff drought next year.
