Viewers of Real Housewives of Potomac witnessed a brutal physical altercation between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard during episode nine of Season 5, and it’s safe to say that the fight became the center of the RHOP season. During a celebratory gathering for the release of Gizelle Bryant’s book My Word, former besties Monique and Candiace shared a heated exchange of words with one another. After Candiace asked Monique if she had plans to “drag her,” the “Not For Lazy Moms” podcast host reacted in a fit of rage of hair-pulling and exchanges of wine glasses and punches, according to People.

According to Monique, the end of her friendship with Candiace followed a rumor claiming that her son Chase is not fathered by husband Chris Samuels. The two former friends’ fight transpired from the cameras to the courtroom after they both accused one another of second-degree assault, per People. Although the charges have been dismissed from both parties as of December 2019, per Us Weekly, Candiace is not letting up until she feels she’s gotten justice — even if it means she makes her exit from the show.

Following an intense season of Real Housewives of Potomac, Candiace Dillard’s future on the show is in limbo. In a December 2020 interview, the former Miss United States confirmed that she will return for another season of RHOP under one condition: Monique Samuels leaves the show. “If it were up to me, the answer is no. Good riddance, go home,” Candiace said on an episode of Behind The Velvet Rope with David Yontef (skip to 36:48). Should Monique be on the following season on RHOP, Candiace confirmed she will not be part of the show. “For my mental health … I will not film with her, I will not work with her … This is still a job at the end of the day. I’m not working with her and that’s not an ultimatum. That’s nothing but my truth.”

Candiace believes that Bravo network was “too neutral” in how the altercation was handled. “I feel like [Bravo] were more neutral than they should’ve been,” she continued. “I feel they took the easy road so that they wouldn’t have to pick a side.” Yikes. It looks like Monique and Candiace won’t be resolving things anytime soon.
