On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Raiders held their first day of practice for training camp. Per multiple reports, the Raiders had a boring practice for anyone interested in the quarterback battle between Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew. The lack of wide receivers on the roster didn’t help matters.

On Wednesday evening, the Raiders made a couple of roster changes to deal with injuries on offense.

On Wednesday evening, the Raiders signed one receiver to their 90-man roster amid a dramatic week at the position. On Tuesday, the Raiders placed Michael Gallup on the reserve/retired list after the 28-year-old receiver chose to retire from the league after spending a few months with Las Vegas. One day later, the Raiders had to put Jalen Guyton on the physically unable to perform list.

With two receivers unavailable in a span of 48 hours, the Raiders knew they had to add depth. Per a statement by the Raiders, the team signed Keelan Doss to the roster:

Doss, who began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders in 2019, has played in 14 career games and totaled 17 receptions for 166 yards. Last season with the Chargers, he played in five games and caught six passes for 33 yards.

Since entering the league with the Silver and Black, Doss has also spent time with Jacksonville, Atlanta, the New York Jets, and the New York Giants during his career. A native of Alameda, Calif., Doss played at UC Davis where he was a two-time All-American.

OL Corey Luciano signed with the Raiders

The Raiders also made two more roster moves for the offense. Per the Raiders, the team waived offensive guard Jake Johanning following an injury. They signed Corey Luciano:

Luciano saw action in two games as a rookie for San Francisco last season after signing with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. The Danville, Calif., native played in 35 games with 13 starts in four years at Washington after transferring from Diablo Valley College. As a senior in 2022, Luciano received third-team All-Pac-12 honors after starting all 13 games at center.

Fortunately for the Raiders, they have two solid receivers, Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. They also have a young pair of stud tight ends, Michael Mayer and Brock Bowers. But the Raiders will need to use the preseason to decide their depth for Minshew or O’Connell to target this season.
