The Rick and Michonne spinoff series featured the long-awaited reunion between the two characters and was an outstanding addition to the long-running Walking Dead storyline.
At its heart, it is an epic love story. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is a piece of the apocalyptic story of Rick and Michonne, but it is primarily a tale of love. These two characters had been separated for years as they both fought anything in their paths to reunite. The six-part limited series premiered in 2023 on AMC and AMC+ and, overall, was a great way to reintroduce the couple back into the fold while expanding their stories via flashbacks and present-day events.
Fans of The Walking Dead were thrilled to see Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprise their roles as Rick and Michonne in the sixth spinoff of the main series titled The Ones Who Live. This series did more than just reunite Rick and Michonne; it brought their story full circle, as they were also reunited with their children Judith (Cailey Fleming) and RJ (Antony Azur).
This series also included Pollyanna McIntosh in a reprisal of her role as Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes of the CRM and a surprise cameo from Father Gabriel, portrayed by Seth Gilliam. Additional cast for the series includes Lesley-Ann Brandt, Terry O’Quinn, Matthew Jeffers, Andrew Bachelor, Breeda Wool, Craig Tate, and Frankie Quinones.

The network and the streamer have collaborated to bring a long list of titles to the streamer on August 19, including season 1 of the Daryl Dixon spinoff, and all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead. On January 13, 2025, season 1 of Dead City and The Ones Who Live will also be added to Netflix. These titles will be added to The Walking Dead series, of which all eleven seasons stream on Netflix.
