The top wide receiver on the New Orleans Saints depth chart is Chris Olave. He has emerged as one of the best young pass catchers in the NFL, when healthy. With a smaller frame, injuries have always been a potential concern at the pro level.
He dealt with some minor injuries in 2023, but he still played in sixteen games. Olave totaled 1,123 receiving yards on 87 receptions and five touchdowns last season.
In early June, Olave was dealing with a back injury before training camp kicked off. The back issue was not enough to keep him off of the field to start camp last week. Now, he has sustained a new injury.

The severity of the injury is still unknown. Hopefully, his timetable for return is not very long.
Olave had an impressive play before the injury. Derek Carr threw a good ball over the middle to the star wideout.

Dennis Allen did not have any notable updates on Olave after practice. They will surely provide more info later this week on him.
“I think he just landed on his hip. It’s his hip & that’s all I really got right now.”
— Allen on Olave
New Orleans should not rush back their top receiver. That being said, this is already the second injury of the offseason for Olave. He must stay healthy if he wants to produce at the level that the Saints need from him in 2024.
