New Orleans Saints rookie QB Spencer Rattler makes the perfect statement about star WR Chris Olave

On offense, sometimes things can get a bit too complicated in the NFL. A smart plan of action is to try to get your best players involved as much as you can . For New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler, that’s already engrained into his mind.

Spencer Rattler wants to get the ball to Chris Olave

“Dude’s different. I make it a key point. When he’s in, get him the ball. It’s that simple.”

Of course, by different, that is a compliment from the young quarterback. Basically, he means that Olave looks different out there because of how much talent he possesses. It stands out, even compared to other impressive pass catchers.

Rattler oozes physical ability. Clearly, he has already caught onto a key mental part of success at the pro level – or really, any competitive level of football.

Working through ways to get Olave more touches in space simply makes the most sense for New Orleans.

He’s the best receiver on the roster and could have a massive season in an offense built around motion and play action. Derek Carr and Olave have shown an improved connection during this offseason, too.

Rattler made another strong, positive statement regarding the new offense for the Saints. He noted that he has multiple great looks every time he drops back. There’s no “forcing” throws in Klint Kubiak’s offense as the play-caller.

“What Klint (Kubiak) is doing is amazing.” — Rattler

All in all, Rattler had one of the best podium presences of the offseason. he was calm and confident when talking to the media about the Saints’ new offense on Monday.

He’s showed some extremely impressive traits so far in practice for New Orleans, but he is also looking to find more consistency.

Dennis Allen said Spencer Rattler is improving every day, but he’s getting good learning experiences. Still things that he needs to work on, he pointed out some of his situational football. Sees confidence and at times where they need to pull the reins back a little bit.

As of now, he continues to battle for the backup QB job in New Orleans with Jake Haener.
