Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore had a rollercoaster type of friendship. And Kenya and NeNe’s reads of each other were epic. But you know what was far from epic? Kenya’s suspension from Season 16 of RHOA. After being suspended, Kenya handed in her peach. Now NeNe is giving her take on the recent changes in the franchise.
NeNe Leakes wasn’t “surprised” by Kenya Moore’s exit
Allegedly, Kenya was suspended because she displayed posters of co-star Brittany Eady performing a sex act. When she announced her exit, Kenya also claimed that she was innocent of those upsetting allegations. “The rumors and narrative about me randomly showing nudes or revenge p is 1000% untrue. I have proof and will share soon,” she stated in a previous social media post.
But NeNe, who departed the franchise in 2020, wasn’t shocked by Kenya’s exit. “I don’t know if I was surprised. I know that, over the years, Kenya has always pushed the envelope a little bit,” NeNe told E! News. If these allegations are true, Kenya shredded and burned the envelope.
She added, “Listen, those girls do a lot of things. I don’t think I’m surprised at all.” In an interesting twist, NeNe still keeps in contact with two current Atlanta housewives: Porsha Williams and Drew Sidora.
And she is still friendly with other RHOA alums Shereé Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, and Phaedra Parks. “We’re not talking every day but when we see each other, there’s no beef,” NeNe explained. “There’s no hard feelings. Actually, we laugh about it.”
NeNe Leakes wants Phaedra Parks to get a peach
But NeNe feels that Phaedra should have her peach again. “Housewives is where the viewers know her from and, to me, if she was going to be on any platform it should be on the Housewives platform, not Married to Medicine. I think Phaedra would be a good addition again,” she stated. Well, there are rumors that Phaedra is negotiating her return to Atlanta.
As for NeNe? She is hosting a new Lifetime show, titled Outrageous Love. Still, many RHOA viewers wish that NeNe could return to the franchise. After burning so many bridges, that may remain a wish unfulfilled.
Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock.
