The two Maple Leafs will captain a lineup of current and former NHL and Junior players in a charity hockey game later this month.
Mitch Marner and Max Domi are set to square off against each other in a charity hockey game this month.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forwards will be team captains in an exhibition game set on August 21st at the CAA Centre as part of the third-annual Hockey Night in Brampton event.
The City of Brampton announced Domi as one of the team captains on Friday. Marner was previously announced as the other team captain in late July.
Last year, the event raised over $1 million for the Osler Foundation, which helps fund Brampton’s hospitals. Maple Leafs captain John Tavares took part as one of the team captains and the event raised an additional $100,000 for the John Tavares Foundation.
Former NHLers Nick Kypreos, Anthony Stewart and former longtime Marlies defenseman Phil Oreskovic were also added to a large group of players on Friday. Also taking part are former NHL defenceman and Canadian gold medalist Chris Pronger, Women’s Canadian National team stars Tessa Bonhomme and Renata Fast, NHL players Dylan Strome, Erik Gudbranson, Cole Perfetti, Liam Foudy and Jack McBain, along with Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Chelios and former NHL and Brampton Battalion player Cody Hodgson. Brampton Steelheads’ goalies Jack Ivankovic and Ryerson Leenders, forward Porter Martone and defenceman Stevie Leskovar round out the list of participants.
Former Maple Leafs and current team ambassadors Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark will serve as head coaches while Hockey Hall of Famer Darryl Sittler will drop the puck.
