If the Miami Heat are to get past the Chicago Bulls this Friday, they will have to do it without Jimmy Butler in uniform. Butler suffered a right MCL sprain in last Wednesday’s 105-104 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on the road. Butler was trying to get off a shot late in the first quarter, but after faking out Sixers forward Kelly Oubre Jr., the Heat star fell to the ground. Oubre then seemingly landed on Butler’s leg, leaving Butler in pain.
Butler was able to stay in the game but got the bad news later on about his injury and immediate availability in the postseason.
The Miami Heat Star Hilariously Calls Out Kelly Oubre Jr. on Social Media
When Butler saw a post on Instagram about a brutal update on his injury and availability for the Bulls game, he mentioned Oubre and dared him to a fight.
“Kelly Oubre we throwing hands,” Butler typed.
Of course, Butler wasn’t serious about that, but it’s clear that his injury is a major blow for Miami, which may continue to miss his services even if the Heat successfully defeat the Bulls. Against the 76ers, Butler had 19 points but was just 5/18 from the floor and 2/6 from, behind the arc.
Without Butler, the Heat have their backs pressed harder against the wall going into the Bulls matchup. His injury means the likes of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro both have to step up and produce more on offense.
