Melissa Gorga thought she wanted a renewed relationship with Kathy Wakile. But after Kathy’s comments on Watch What Happens Live? Now the Real Housewives of New Jersey star seems perfectly fine if both parties just stay where they are.
This all started when the stars became aware that they were about to be neighbors. While on Jeff Lewis’ SiriusXM show, Melissa revealed that the Wakiles were building a property on her street. Melissa was optimistic about the relocation. “I secretly hope Joe and Kathy are like, walking down the street one day, and [we] like, bump into each other,” Mel said.
She added, “Because at the end of the day, Kathy’s a good person.” How did Kathy respond? She took to Watch What Happens Live to call the street “Melissa Way.” According to Kathy, “Apparently, she owns the street.” So, it didn’t take long for Mel to retract her call for peace.
Melissa reminds Kathy that they’re cousins
In the July 18 episode of her podcast, Melissa clarified her comments on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. She said, “What I had said on [Jeff Lewis Live] was, what I thought, very nice… a way of moving forward in some which way, and it wasn’t like a, ‘Hey, I want you on the show’ or ‘I want you back in our lives.’”
She continued, “It wasn’t really what I was saying. I was saying, ‘Well, it would be nice if we live on the same street and there are two cousins living on the same street and they bumped into each other, it would be really nice to have them talk and work it out and talk it out.” Unfortunately, it seemed that Kathy stayed firmly in the opposing camp.
Melissa closed her thoughts by saying, “[That was] me extending an olive branch… But you know what? Your loss. Stay on your side of the street. All good. I tried to say something nice. I don’t think I liked the attitude. I’m like, it’s weird. We haven’t seen her in a very long time so I just thought it was a little petty.”
Real Housewives of New Jersey continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
