‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ husband was all smiles answering questions about whether his wife will be seen in the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ ballroom and if he plans to dance to one of Wade’s songs
Mauricio Umansky has nothing but love for Morgan Wade.
The 53-year-old Buying Beverly Hills star, who was recently announced as a contestant on season 32 of Dancing with the Stars, was all smiles as he fielded questions from TMZ about his wife Kyle Richards — and her close relationship with Wade — while leaving rehearsal for the ABC show on Thursday.
Despite he and Richards, 54, being separated, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills husband said he’s “absolutely” excited for his wife to come to the ballroom and support him this season — and that Wade, 28, is more than welcome to come too.
When asked if he had a “good relationship” with the country singer, Umansky was quick to put any assumptions of bad blood to rest.
“I love her,” he responded immediately. “Yeah, she’s great.”
Additionally, he didn’t rule out dancing to any of Wade’s songs this season. He and his Dancing with the Stars partner, Emma Slater, said they weren’t sure if they were doing any country songs, but that they would “figure it out as we go.”
“She’s got so many great ones,” Umansky said of Wade’s music.
Rumors of a romance between Richards and Wade have swirled lately. In August, the country singer released a steamy music video her single “Fall in Love with Me” featuring Richards as her love interest. In the video, she and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star flirtily fed each other fruit, shared a bath and nearly kissed.
Despite this, Wade has insisted there’s nothing more than friendship between the two of them. “We’re friends,” she told PEOPLE of Richards in an exclusive August interview. “The Internet’s a dumb place.”
In July, a source confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE that Umansky and Richards had separated after 27 years of marriage. The pair share three daughters: Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23 and Portia, 15.
“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof,” the source shared at the time. “They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”
In September, Umansky told Entertainment Tonight that his family was “hanging in there” amid the separation, adding that he and his wife were “both happy.”
“You know, we’re hanging in there, we’re working through all of our things, which everybody knows about, and we’re just taking it day by day,” he shared. “We’re trying not to let the press influence us and all of the social media and all of the stuff that’s going on. So we’re trying to just ignore that and figure that ourselves.”
