I must confess that Real Housewives of New Jersey was one of my favorite franchises. I loved the family, the traditions, and the humor. Last season and this season have left me disappointed.
First, we heard from Teresa Giudice’s husband, Luis Ruelas, that he was chilling in Teresa’s late father’s pajamas. Giacinto “Nonno” Gorga wouldn’t want a stranger in his jammies. And how does that make Teresa’s four daughters “feel safe?” Now, we have learned that Luis is taking Teresa’s daughters out on “date nights.” In the words of Phaedra Parks, “Fix it, Jesus.”
Why is Luis Ruelas taking Teresa Giudice’s daughters out for solo “date nights?”
During an interview with the Instagram site Bravosnarkside, the host shared some details that none of us needed, or wanted, to know about Teresa’s family. “Luis’ awesome … what he can’t fake is the fact that the girls love him and you can tell that you guys all love each other and he loves spending time with them,” the host stated. “I don’t know if you want me to say this or not but I think it’s awesome about how the girls – him and the girls go out individually [up] for date nights and just spend time together. I mean, that’s the coolest thing.”
Teresa, who looked like she was barely awake during this chat, added, “I know he makes me feel bad because then I’m like I have to do that. I have to do that, too. You know?” Well, the comment section sounded off about Luis’ plans with his stepdaughters. “Why not family night??? That’s creepy!” one user wrote. “Creepy as hell considering how the girls are all teenagers. If I was their father, I’d be freaking out,” another follower commented. A third simply said, “Nah that’s Creepy af!”
Another user was supportive of this family tradition. “If the girls feel comfortable with him I think it’s fine … No one in these comments know him as a father he seems to have a great relationship with his boys … you can say what you want about Teresa but she’s a good mom, the same can also be true for Louie,” the follower said.
Luis Ruelas has a concerning past
It’s no secret that Luis and all the baggage from his past, particularly his temper, raised the red flag alert for some RHONJ viewers. Even Gia Giudice, Teresa’s eldest daughter, has admitted to calling out Luis if he gets out of line. But she still calls her stepdad “a really, really good guy.”
So, I’m all for a group family night, but that’s just my opinion.
Real Housewives of New Jersey continues on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
