During the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 finale, Luis Ruelas went full mask-off villain. He and Teresa Giudice spoke about confronting Margaret Josephs during the finale’s dinner at Rails Steakhouse.
As the two discussed Margaret, Luis unexpectedly said, “I hope Margaret and her family suffer. You know? I hope her f*cking son suffers the way I suffered. The way other people in our family have suffered.”
He also called Margaret a “disgusting, vile human being,” and “a real piece of garbage.” Expectedly, viewers did not react kindly to his words, asking what Margaret’s son had ever done to him. It became such a big deal that Luis decided to explicitly apologize.
Luis blames “certain people” for his children’s suffering
On August 6, Luis put out a statement on his Instagram story regarding the finale. “The finale was very tough for me to watch and I wanted to address it with you all,” he wrote. “I was disappointed in my actions in bringing up Margaret Josephs’ son [sic].”
“The reason he was even brought up was because I have been dealing with being falsely accused of calling Margarets [sic] son at his work which is simply not true. For the last year Margaret kept putting this narrative out there that I called her son at work and I have had to deal with it knowing I am being lied on.”
He continued, “Still, I know better [than] to bring someone’s child up and it is something I deeply regret.” He then apologized and acknowledged his wrongdoing. “There’s been a lot of toxicity on the show that has affected everyone.”
Luis further explained that he and his family were “dealing with a lot of frustrating things behind the scenes.” He expressed the toll this took on his children and condemned the actions of “certain people” toward his family. To that point, he concluded by saying, “Two wrongs don’t make a right and I deeply regret saying what I said.”
