LOVE Island’s Emma Mitton has finally revealed how she knows Joey Essex after his reaction to her arrival in the villa left viewers baffled.

The social media influencer appeared on Love Island: Aftersun last night and cleared up the rumours during a chat with host Maya Jama.

Maya wanted her to spill the tea, after fans were left believing Emma was another one of Joey’s exes.

The Towie star acted stunned and gasped when she walked into the villa and held his head in his hands, prompting a flurry of romance rumours online.

Maya also wondered why Joey was shocked by her arrival, and Emma replied: “Standard Joey, he’s just a showman.”

Maya probed further and Emma explained: “We’ve literally been friends for about eight years.

“We were stood in the villa like ‘how do we know each other?’

“But it’s just through the industry. We’ve been friends. It’s a long-term friendship.”

Emma entered Love Island when she grafted Konnor in Casa Amor and he brought her back to the main villa.

But she ended things after a few days and was slammed for the way she spoke to him while doing it, telling him: “Stop saying ‘yeah yeah’.”

One furious viewer said: “If a boy said that to a girl…”

Another said: “Emma telling Konnor to stop saying “yea yeah” bye girl

One more raged: “Emma told Konnor to stop saying yeah yeah. Holy s**t. TShe pretended to like him to get into the villa and her hatred for him then grew.”

Last night she told Maya: “Obviously when he mentioned the terrace, I didn’t expect to be asked about acrylic nails and eyelash extensions, I was like what? I was so confused.

“Honestly, nothing bad to say about Konnor, he’s such a nice guy but he just isn’t my guy.

“That stupid phrase, nice guys finish last, I hate to say it but girls maybe do love the chase so maybe nice guys are just a bit too nice for me. I really want him to find someone.”
