LOVE Island’s Diamante Laiva has opened up about the secret scenes with Joey Essex in Casa Amor.

The 21-year-old revealed that the pair had a chat during the most recent episode of AfterSun.

It came as a surprise considering Joey is coupled up with Jessy Potts and Diamante built a connection with Sean Stone during their time in the sister villa.

When asked who pulled who for a chat, Diamante exclusively told The Sun: “I actually don’t remember.

“I don’t think anyone pulled anyone because I remember sitting at the mini fire pit with Ellie and then Joey’s come round and then I think Ellie’s left.

“So we’ve kind of just stayed there because obviously everybody else is talking to everybody else.

“Do you know what I mean?

“So it’s kind of just like might as well just have a conversation, you know?”

The natural beauty business owner also confessed that fans don’t believe her that it happened.

She added: “The thing with joey, imagine… I’ve had people telling me it didn’t happen – from the outside.

“Just like, you know, people in the comments, she’s lying like sorry…

“I forgot you were there. But no, with Joey, obviously, it wasn’t like crazy. It wasn’t like the maddest like flirting.

“It was just, you know, he did say, like, you know, he would like to get to know me, but the age difference is a concern, and, yeah, it was just kind of left there really.

“But obviously I did speak to him after that.

“But it was just a friendship thing, like, now if I was to see Joey down the street, but it say hi and wave and just keep it at that.”

Diamante very briefly mentioned their connection on the spin-off show.

In conversation with show host Maya Jama, Diamante said:  “What you guys didn’t see was that I actually had really nice chats with everyone and out of everyone the best chats came from Sean and Joey.”

To which Maya replied: “Ooooh what happened with Joey?”

Diamante replied: “It was very brief, but the best chat came from Sean.”

The entrepreneur did get close with Matilda Draper’s man Sean.

The pair ended up sharing a bed and a number of kisses throughout their time in Casa.

However Sean decided to couple up with Matilda again, leaving Diamante single and she had to leave the show.

Presenter Maya Jama asked Diamante if there was anything she wanted to say, to which she replied: “It’s a bit weird how you can tell someone they’re your priority and this is how you treat your priority.”

To which Matilda snapped back: “You’re not sat here, babe.”

In her exit interview, she said: “It feels very chilled, I just can’t wait to go home and drink a cup of tea!

She added: “I actually was, when Sean was giving his speech he said he was confused, and he was saying he found connections in Casa and as he was saying that I was thinking, ‘are we about to couple up?’

“I think he chose the safe option to stick with Matilda. He’s perhaps not as genuine as we all thought he was…”
