Rob Rausch doesn’t seem to think love is in the cards for him and one of his “Love Island” exes.
The reality TV star revealed he’s not rushing to rekindle his relationship with Andrea Carmona now that their time on Season 6 of the Peacock series has come to an end.
“I’ve been talking to her a little bit, but it’s not like – I think, I think once again, it’s probably better if we just kind of keep our distance for now,” Rausch said on the July 24 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“A lot has happened and she’s been posting a lot,” he said, noting how Carmona’s posts about the show following her emotional exit have ruffled his feathers.
“I was kind of like, oh, it’s a lot of things to post about, which sounds really bad.”
“She did nothing wrong, literally did nothing wrong. And she was always kind. When she left, she was in a position where she could have said a lot of mean things and been like y’all are some b—es for doing this, blah blah blah. [She] did not say a word,” Rausch continued.
“All she said was how much she cared about me, and then left. I thought that was so good, and like I thought she handled herself so well the whole time, which is why I was kind of surprised [that] she was posting a lot of stuff,” he added.
He also said that some of her comments were “something that I did not see coming from her” since she was “very no drama in the villa.”
However, he reached out to her after his elimination on the July 19 episode and they did speak once on a FaceTime call.
Carmona exited the villa during the June 23 episode after a fiery recoupling that sent two islanders home. Rausch was saddened by the news.
During his podcast interview, Rausch said that he was “mad” and “baffled” because he and Carmona “had the strongest connection of most of the people in the villa at the time.”
At the time, Rausch told Carmona that he would leave the villa with her, but it was a move he said he now “100% regrets.”
“I wish I wouldn’t have said it, but in that moment, that’s what I was doing. I was set on leaving,” he said.
Rausch said he doesn’t know if things “would have worked out” between he and Carmona had she stayed in the villa with him.
“It was really, really great. But like, it was still early days. We had a lot to learn about each other [still].”
He went on to recouple with bombshell Cassidy Laudano (who was also dumped from the island after a quick recoupling), and then brought Daniela Ortiz Rivera back to the villa after their Casa Amor trip. He closed the season linked to Kassy Castillo, another Season 5 alum. However, they were both dumped during the July 19 episode.
He started the show in a couple with Leah Kateb, who finished in second place with her partner Miguel Harichi.
