THE age-old trick to staying relevant is often to align oneself to those who are and former Love Islander Scott Van Der Sluis seems to be employing this very tactic.
The former footballer launched an astonishing attack on the current crop of contestants, branding them ‘vain’ ‘boring’ and in need of a ‘muzzle.’
The 23-year-old posted his withering remarks on social media. He said: “Mimi still wants Ayo, the last three bombshells have done nothing.
Joey has actually made the mess required for good TV. Jess and Ayo go well together. Reuben has called himself good-looking more than anyone else has. Sean needs a muzzle. Bored of this season now, goodbye.”
It seems that Scott was referring to the moment where Mimi chose to lock lips with Ayo on the terrace, during their game of Snog, Marry, Pie.
Explaining her decision to smooch with Ayo, despite being coupled up with Josh, Mimi said: “I chose to snog this boy because we had a good connection whilst it lasted and it just made the most sense for this game for me I think.”
And suggesting a muzzle for Sean, Scott may have been referring to his motormouth, which has been irritating the other contestants, clashing swords with Ayo who blasted him for being annoying.
Scott van-der-Sluis appeared on Love Island season 10, as well as Love Island USA’s season five and Love Island Games .
He entered Love Island as a bombshell on day 11 of the 2023 series, lasting 40 days before being dumped.
The Welsh footballer signed for Manchester United as an eight-year-old in 2009 before moving to Liverpool’s red’s academy in 2010 spending five seasons with the club.
After leaving Liverpool in 2015, he joined Swansea City, before leaving at the end of his contract in 2019.
