Lindsay Hubbard and Paige DeSorbo went head-to-head during Monday’s episode of the first half of the two-part Summer House reunion. And online, amid the tense episode, their drama continued to play out.
As Lindsay denied Paige’s suggestion that she threw a shoe at one of their producers on Instagram, PEOPLE reporter Dave Quinn spoke out against Paige’s claims as well, shooting down the idea that Lindsay and Carl Radke pre-planned their engagement article, which was shared just one day after Carl got down on one knee.
“I think they’re pretty fake sometimes. I think they got engaged, and four hours later, PEOPLE magazine article was on. Like, that’s premeditated. That’s planned. I know how PEOPLE magazine works,” Paige alleged at the Summer House reunion.
“What do you mean? PEOPLE came out on Sunday,” Lindsay clapped back.
“I know how PEOPLE magazine works. You have to plan that, and it doesn’t work. That’s Sunday morning,” Paige continued.
But according to Dave, who wrote Lindsay and Carl’s engagement article for the outlet, the publication was not premeditated.
“Not at all,” Dave replied to a fan who wanted to know if Paige was “correct” in her suspicions. “A rep from the network called and asked PEOPLE to run a story because Lindsay and Carl were celebrating in a public space, where plenty of people could see them. Bravo worried the news would be leaked, likely by those people or by their costars. So I wrote fast.”
“Perhaps Paige doesn’t, in fact, know how PEOPLE Magazine works, but I’m happy to fill her in anytime she wants,” he added.
Meanwhile, in the comments section of a clip of the Summer House reunion shared by Best of Bravo on Instagram, which featured Paige and other cast members accusing Lindsay of mistreating staff, Lindsay defended herself.
“You threw a shoe at a producer!” Paige had alleged.
But in her response, Lindsay insisted, “There is no shoe. There is no shoe to the producer lol.”
