Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov had a sensational 2023-24 season. In 81 games, he posted 44 goals and a league-leading 144 points, which led to him securing his second-career Art Ross Trophy. He also became the first winger in NHL history to record 100 assists in a single season.
Kucherov will now look to build off his outstanding season in 2024-25. If he stays healthy and puts together another dominant offensive campaign, he could hit a massive milestone next season.
At this juncture, Kucherov has 873 career points. If he stays healthy, he will surely hit 900 points, but 1,000 could also be in the cards. For Kucherov to hit the 1,000-point mark, he would need to put together a 127-point campaign. When noting that he just had a 144-point season, he undoubtedly has the potential to do it.
Kucherov hit an entirely new level last season, and it will be very interesting to see if he carries that momentum over to 2024-25. If he does, Kucherov has a real shot at hitting the 1,000-point mark next season.
