Tampa Bay Lightning star Brandon Hagel is coming off a fantastic 2023-24 season. In 82 games, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native posted 26 goals to go along with a career-high 75 points. This was after he posted a then career-high 64 points in 81 games in 2022-23.
Overall, Hagel just keeps getting better with each passing season, and this undoubtedly has the potential to carry over to the 2024-25 campaign. Keep in mind that this was only the 25-year-old’s fourth full season in the NHL, so he still may not have hit his ceiling just yet.
Heading into next season, Hagel is expected to have plenty of opportunities to succeed. He has a clear spot in the Lightning’s top six and will once again be one of their most critical power-play weapons. Thus, there is a real possibility that the 6-foot-2 winger can hit a new level offensively yet again next season.
Hagel is already a very important piece of the Lightning’s core, but he has the potential to become an even better player. As a result, don’t be surprised if the 2016 sixth-round pick puts together a memorable season for the Bolts in 2024-25. The 35-goal and 80-point marks are certainly possible.
