Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nick Paul had an excellent season for the Atlantic Division club in 2023-24. In 82 games, the 6-foot-3 forward posted new career highs with 24 goals, 22 assists, and 46 points. With numbers like these, the Mississauga, Ontario native took his game to a new level and will now look to build off it in 2024-25.
While some may question if Paul can replicate his offense from last season, he certainly has the potential to. In fact, if he stays healthy, he could even build off last season’s momentum and even have an even better campaign in 2024-25.
When looking at the Lightning’s current roster, Paul is a prime candidate for middle-six minutes next season. In addition, due to his improved offense, he should cement himself a spot on the Lightning’s power play. Thus, the Lightning are expected to put him in a position to succeed, and the 2013 fourth-round pick has the tools to take advantage of it.
Last season, Paul showed that he can be a notable offensive contributor. Due to this, the prospect of him hitting the 25-goal and 50-point marks should not be ruled out if he remains healthy. It will be intriguing to see what he does for an encore after his career-best year from here.
