The Tampa Bay Lightning have made several roster changes this offseason as they embark on the next chapter of their franchise. However, it is still possible that they are not done yet, as they could use one more top-six winger.
When looking at the current players in the rumor mill, one player who stands out is Philadelphia Flyers winger Joel Farabee.
Farabee, 24, has been the subject of rumors all offseason, but a trade has not been made. However, when noting that all of the big-name free-agent wingers have found their new homes, interest in Farabee’s services could increase from here. Given the Lightning’s need for help on the wing, it would not be shocking if they entered the mix.
If the Lightning acquired Farabee, he would be a clear option for their top six. When looking at a specific fit for Farabee, he could work on the club’s second line with Brandon Hagel and Anthony Cirelli. In addition, Farabee would give them another strong weapon for their power play if acquired.
A trade for Farabee would likely need to start with the Lightning’s 2026 first-round pick and a prospect. While the Lightning would need to give up a decent amount to land Farabee, it would be worth it, as he is a young top-six forward who may not have hit his ceiling yet.
Farabee appeared in 82 games this past season with the Flyers, recording new career highs with 22 goals, 28 assists, and 50 points.
