Kim and Khloé Kardashian took Mumbai by storm over the weekend, attending the star-studded wedding of billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in fittingly flamboyant style.
Estimated to have cost around $600 million, the India nuptials drew celebrities including Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra and John Cena along with the Kardashians.
While the bride showed off one over-the-top ensemble after the next — including an intricately embellished Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga for Friday’s wedding ceremony — Kardashian held her own in seven figures’ worth of jewelry from celebrity favorite Lorraine Schwartz.
On Friday, the 43-year-old Skims founder kicked things off with a scarlet Manish Malhotra lehenga trimmed with tassels and covered from top to bottom with intricate beadwork.
While the look may have been in line with the happy couple’s request for guests to dress in “traditional Indian attire,” some took issue with Kardashian’s decision to wear red — a color typically reserved for the bride at Indian weddings.
To finish her look, the mom of four wore more than 150 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, including two show-stopping necklaces: one featuring a 35-carat marquise-cut stone suspended from a 55-carat chain, the other suspended with a 23-carat pear-cut diamond on a 40-carat chain.
Her hand piece included a 8-carat moval diamond, a 10-carat old-cut pear-shaped diamond and a 5-carat square-cut diamond, while her 28-carat maang tikka headpiece was set with multiple pear-shaped diamonds and drops.
Lastly, each of Kardashian’s earrings included two pear-shaped diamonds — one weighing in at 9 carats, the other at 20 carats.
Khloé, 40, looked good as gold as she posed next to Kim in her own Manish Malhotra two-piece look and Lorraine Schwartz bling — but the party was just getting started.
On Saturday, Kim took things up a notch for the billionaire’s blessing reception, sporting a dusty peach brocade lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani adorned with delicate threadwork and Swarovski crystals.
She dazzled in an ornate statement necklace set with 170 carats of diamonds, including a series of suspended pear-shaped stones.
Along with a diamond-and-pearl maang tikka finished with an 8-carat pear-shaped drop, Kardashian wore earrings set with pearl and diamond briolettes totaling 62 carats.
But the pièce de résistance was Kardashian’s nose ring, or nath, featuring 70 carats’ worth of cushion old-cut diamonds connecting her nostril and ear.
Khloé, meanwhile, paired her hot pink lehenga and Hermès Kelly Pochette with 250 carats of Schwartz-designed pink and white diamonds and pearls, including a pair of necklaces, a hand piece and a headpiece of her own.
Kim may have saved her most unique look for Sunday’s mangal utsav reception, opting for a “flame orange” Gaurav Gupta Couture ensemble accessorized with massive Colombian emeralds.
Her necklace — which she wore as a headpiece — was set with over 400 carats of vivid green gems, while her earrings featured 100-carat pear-shaped drops.
She finished the look with a 10-carat no-oil Colombian emerald ring and a 60-carat hand piece to match.
Long associated with rebirth and fertility, emeralds are a popular choice for Indian weddings, and the Ambanis’ was no exception.
Mother of the groom Nita set the tone for the festivities early with her choice of necklace for the couple’s pre-wedding bash in March: a necklace set with diamonds and suspended with two brick-sized emeralds.
When it comes to sparkle, the sky’s clearly the limit for Asia’s wealthiest family — and their famous wedding guests.
