As she allegedly considers taking legal action following an indefinite suspension from Bravo, which was prompted by allegations of “revenge porn,” Kenya, 53, has taken to her Instagram page with a telling message to her fans and followers.
“Thank you for all the support #teamtwirl. My heart is full and my conscience is clear,” Kenya began on June 26. “So many false claims hiding behind anonymous sources. All this conversation and no facts being reported. If a claim or source was valid, would they need to hide?”
“My life is blessed. My daughter and I will continue to thrive in a [non-toxic] environment where we feel appreciated and most importantly, protected,” she continued. “Thank you God for covering us.”
Kenya then updated her caption with an additional statement to her online audience, which read, “The rumors and narrative about me randomly showing nudes or revenge [porn] is 1000% untrue. I have proof and will share soon.”
Kenya then took to her Instagram Story with another message.
“You can try to destroy a legacy, but you will never destroy a queen,” her statement said.
After Kenya’s departure from RHOA was confirmed, Kandi Burruss, 48, who exited the series earlier this year, addressed the matter on Amazon Live.
“There was an incident that happened. I wasn’t there. I can’t give you the details of what happened. But it makes me sad. I’m not lying about how I feel because she is my friend. I do love her,” Kandi began.
As fans have surely heard, Kenya and Bravo parted ways after she was suspended for allegedly showcasing images of newbie Brittany Eady, 36, performing a sex act at the opening of her hair salon this month. However, amid claims of revenge porn, Kenya seemingly denied any such thing, hinting that vindication was coming.
“I do not know the other young lady so this is not a diss to her. I just feel like Kenya, I know she goes hard sometimes, and I get it, but I have never known her to make up anything about anybody and if things are out there about you when you join on a reality show, unfortunately, people are able to pull up things that you’ve done and share them,” Kandi explained. “And not to say that it’s always a nice thing to do or a cool thing to do, but it happens.”
According to Kandi, she “[hates]” how the situation ended up and feels that there had to have been a better way to handle the dispute.
“I just feel like Kenya’s a major part of the show and I feel like this is the end of an era,” she noted. “It doesn’t matter if you didn’t like her or whatever, you’re always gonna need somebody who doesn’t mind being real and keeping it 100 on camera, pushing the story, meaning bringing up things that other people be trying to avoid.”
“You’ve gotta have that person,” she continued. “I think she’s one of those people who made sure that people spoke about what they had to speak about and so now that she’s gone, I wanna see how that’s gonna work.”
Following Kandi’s appearance, a clip of the livestream was shared by a Kandi Burruss fan page on Instagram. And in a comment to the post, Kenya reacted to her former castmate’s kind words.
“I love you more [Kandi Burruss] thank you for always having my back when it wasn’t the politically correct thing to do,” she wrote.
In addition to reacting to Kandi’s Amazon Live session with her comment, she also shared a message to both Kandi and Teresa Giudice, 52, on her Instagram Story.
“A REAL friend,” Kenya wrote of Kandi.
“Thank you sister,” she added to Teresa after the Real Housewives of New Jersey star shared a supportive post.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 remains in production and is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
